Kudus stuns West Ham fans after claim he’s chosen between Arsenal and Liverpool

Mohammed Kudus has left many West Ham fans stunned by speaking out after claims he has already chosen between Arsenal and Liverpool for a summer move.

It has been one of the worst kept secrets in football that West Ham are gearing up to sell Mohammed Kudus this summer.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool have been heavily linked with Kudus – even before he joined West Ham from Ajax in a £38.5m deal in the summer of 2023.

In fact one of the reasons the Hammers were able to beat Arsenal to Kudus’ signature was because they were spent out after sending £105m to east London for Declan Rice.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot and Gunners manager Mikel Arteta have both pledged to make their teams even stronger this summer.
Liverpool and Arsenal vying to sign West Ham’s Kudus

That has seen speculation reignite that Kudus could be bound for Anfield or the Emirates.

West Ham are insisting they have to sell players to fund Graham Potter’s rebuild this summer after reaching their PSR limit.

The Hammers insist Jarrod Bowen, who has been heavily linked with Liverpool in recent seasons, is not for sale.

That leaves Kudus as West Ham’s most valuable and saleable asset, despite his poor form this term after a superb debut season where he provided 20 goal contributions.

Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal, Newcastle and Saudi clubs were all among those being linked with the Hammers attacker.

Arsenal pulled out of the race for West Ham ace Kudus behind the scenes when Andrea Berta was appointed as sporting director.

But links to Liverpool have persisted, especially after Slot raved about Kudus following West Ham’s recent defeat at Anfield.

It was even revealed that Liverpool’s players, including captain Virgil van Dijk, have been urging the club to sign the Ghanaian since last season.

There was a shock U-turn this week when Arsenal reignited their interest in Kudus, who has a release clause of £85m for Premier League clubs.

This is exactly what West Ham’s board would have been hoping for – a potential bidding war between two top clubs for Kudus.

Especially given how tight money is at the London Stadium ahead of a summer where a major revamp is a necessity.

What the club or Hammers supporters probably didn’t bank on was Kudus’ comments in a new interview.

Because Kudus has stunned West Ham fans after a claim he’s chosen between Arsenal and Liverpool.

After Arsenal reignited their interest – as reported by Give Me Sport – it’s been reported Liverpool are Kudus’ preferred destination next season by the likes of Football365.

Hardly surprising in many respects given they have just won the Premier League at a canter.

What is surprising, though, is the suggestion the attacker’s future could be at West Ham.

But none other than Kudus himself.

The Ghana international was asked about his future with a cleverly worded question designed to entice a hint over where he might be heading next.

But Kudus appears to have suggested that future may well be with West Ham.

Asked whether he thinks this season has been a blip for West Ham and whether they will be back stronger and competing for Europe with him in the side next season, Kudus took many by surprise.

“Yes, 100 per cent that will be the focus,” Kudus told Sky Sports.

“That should be the standard in every season and like I said we (West Ham) take a lot of lessons from these down times.

“For every setback I personally see it as an opportunity to grow and focus on what’s ahead.”
Kudus does West Ham a huge favour

Cynics will say this is Kudus playing the question with a straight bat and remaining very professional.

But even if that is the case it is still surprising as he could have used the opportunity to talk up a move away from West Ham amid the interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.

At the very least the Hammers ace deserves credit for that. Many others would have taken the chance to make it clear they want out.

This way it ensures West Ham can push the envelope in terms of asking price for their big asset as he cannot be painted as a player who desperately wants out.

And who knows, perhaps Kudus is open to staying if West Ham can raise enough money in sales elsewhere to fund summer signings.

Mohammed Kudus’ contract contains a remarkable £125million release clause for Saudi sides this summer – but West Ham would be willing to listen to more realistic offers for their 24-year-old winger rather than demanding that lofty fee in full.

For Premier League rivals, Kudus’ buyout drops to £85m, sources have confirmed to Mail Sport. It is believed a bid in that region would be enough to prise him from the Hammers, with Al-Nassr – the team of Cristiano Ronaldo – among those interested in the Ghana international.

Kudus is one of West Ham’s most sellable assets, and the London club have accepted that they are in a position where they will need to sell before they can buy in the next transfer window.

They do not want to lose Jarrod Bowen, despite the highly-influential 28-year-old being someone on whom they could fetch a significant fee if they made him available in the market.

Manager Graham Potter is keen to stamp his influence on the squad after a season in which they have struggled, with the club sitting 17th in the Premier League currently but safe from relegation.

He brought in Kyle Macaulay from Chelsea following his appointment to act as his recruitment specialist, and there is a desire to bring down the average age of the team, given West Ham have averaged one of the oldest line-ups among England’s elite this season.

West Ham are aware they may need to sell the likes of Kudus before they spend in the transfer window, with Graham Potter eager for a summer rebuild following a disappointing campaign

Kudus impressed after arriving at West Ham from Ajax for £38m in 2023, though his powers have waned in this second season.

He scored in their 3-2 loss at Brighton last weekend, marking his first goal in 2025.

It remains to be seen whether Kudus would be willing to move to Saudi if interest turned serious, but West Ham suspect offers will land in this coming window.

Liverpool plot stunning £51m bid for ‘unbelievable’ star as ‘perfectly clear’ response issued

Liverpool have taken a shine to one of the best players of West Ham United, according to a report, but there are two potential problems for Reds manager Arne Slot in getting a deal done in the summer transfer window.

The Merseyside club secured the Premier League title this past weekend with a comprehensive win against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield. It was a remarkable feat for Slot, who became the first Dutch manager to win the Premier League title, and that too in his first season in charge of the Reds.

Liverpool also recently made sure that star forward Mohamed Salah and key defender Virgil van Dijk extend their stay at Anfield.

The Reds already have a very good attacking unit, with Netherlands international Cody Gakpo relishing playing on the left under Slot and Colombia international forward Luis Diaz hammering 12 goals in 26 league starts this season.

However, it seems that Liverpool are keen on signing a new attacking player in the summer transfer window and have turned to West Ham.

Earlier this month, a report claimed that Liverpool are looking at a potential deal for Mohammed Kudus, and now the same publication has revealed that the Reds are keen on Jarrod Bowen too.

CaughtOffSide has reported that Liverpool could make a bid of €60million (£51m, $68.5m) for Bowen, who was described as an “unbelievable player” by then Reds manager Jurgen Klopp in The London Evening Standard in March 2022.

The newly-crowned Premier League champions are looking for a dynamic attacking player who can operate anywhere across the front-three, and ‘Bowen certainly fits the profile’.

The report has noted that West Ham do not want to sell the 28-year-old England international, who has played mainly as a right-winger and centre-forward this season.

West Ham’s stance is backed by another news outlet, HammersNews.

The reputable West Ham-centric website has quoted a spokesman for the West Ham owners as saying: “It’s true we have to sell to buy due to PSR, like many other clubs.

“Let me make this perfectly clear. Jarrod is on a long contract and he is not for sale.”

Tottenham Hotspur also eye Jarrod Bowen – report

CaughtOffSide has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Bowen as well, which means that the second problem that Liverpool are facing is competition.

The north London club, who have progressed to the semi-finals of the Europa League this season, are looking for a quality attacking player who can operate in a number of positions.

Like Liverpool, Tottenham are also said to be ready to bid £51million for the former Hull City star.

Bowen has scored 10 goals and given nine assists in 32 appearances for the Hammers this season.

The attacker found the back of the net 20 times and made 10 assists in 44 matches in all competitions for the London club in the 2023-24 campaign.

West Ham have had a disappointing season and find themselves 17th in the Premier League table with 36 points from 34 matches.

TEAMtalk’s transfer correspondent, Fraser Fletcher, has revealed that Liverpool are set to win the signature of one of the best defenders in the Premier League.

Our Italian football correspondent, Rudy Galetti, has revealed that Liverpool are planning to compete with Inter Milan for a star forward, who will become a free agent at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Liverpool were offered the chance to sign a midfielder before he moved to Manchester United.

West Ham fans all saying the same thing about ‘shameful’ Paqueta after his performance vs Bournemouth
Antony Martin
4 – 5 minutes

Lucas Paqueta put in yet another poor performance for West Ham United against Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta has all sorts of problems going on off the pitch right now.

He is currently going through a trial pertaining to four separate potential breaches of betting rules.

And West Ham star Lucas Paqueta could be banned for life if he is found guilty of those charges.

Those off-field issues have clearly affected Paqueta’s performances this season.

And he really frustrated the Hammers fans once again on Saturday during our clash with the Cherries.
West Ham fans react to Lucas Paqueta performance vs Bournemouth

The Brazilian has been extremely underwhelming for the Hammers this season.

He’s an absolute shadow of his former self – perhaps understandably so given his off-field problems.

Hopefully an outcome is reached soon in Paqueta’s trial, and then both the player and the club can move on.

Whether or not that means he’ll end up leaving the London Stadium remains to be seen.

One thing’s for sure though, A Paqueta in this form is no use to us whatsoever.

Numerous West Ham supporters took to social media to vent their frustrations with the Brazil international.

One West Ham fan took to X and let Paqueta know how poor he was:

Man what happened to these😢 we played sandman well, now I don’t even think we’ll be able to get rid kf Paqueta and Kudus they’re that bad
— Lennon Cleavely (@CleavelyLennon) April 5, 2025

A second fan said, “We not gonna win with Paqueta in and Soler out.“

Whilst a third West Ham supporter said, “Paqueta getting banned could Be a good thing He’s the most over rated player that’s ever played for this club (said it for over a year) Not a single assist all season is shameful.“

A fourth fan took to social media to say, “Lucas Paqueta offers NOTHING on a football pitch, can’t wait for him to get banned.“

Then another Hammers fan shared his anger, “Get Paqueta off that football pitch. And straight to the FA hearing.“

A sixth West Ham supporter criticised the Brazilian as well, “Take off Lucas Paquetá. Form’s dipped, head’s gone, and the betting cloud still hanging. West Ham need fight, not distractions. Get him off.“

Whilst a seventh fan said, “JWP with more assists than Paqueta and he’s not even been at the club most of the season That’s why Tim steiden was sacked.“

Whilst Paqueta was really poor during the first two thirds of the match, he did look like a completely different player when Niclas Fullkrug came on.

Paqueta played in the hole just behind the German and looked like a different player all together.
West Ham have to sell Lucas Paqueta if they can

The Brazil international really does need to pull his finger out.

He showed glimpses during the final 30 minutes against Bournemouth that he is more than capable of making a big difference for the Hammers.

The fact that he hasn’t registered an assist this season really is unacceptable.

If he is proven innocent of the charges he faces, then the Hammers owners quite simply have to sell him.

Claret and Hugh have suggested that he is indeed expected to leave the London Stadium this summer.

On the whole, the West Ham fans were clearly not happy with Lucas Paqueta’s performance against Bournemouth.
