Tottenham secured a 3-1 victory at home to now-relegated Southampton on Sunday afternoon, though it means very little in the grand scheme of things.
Domestically, Tottenham have quite literally nothing left to play for aside from their own pride, though their 3-1 win against Southampton provided some sort of optimism.
Spurs’ focus will be on the Europa League, given it is their only remaining chance of a trophy, as well as their only route to Eruopean football for the new campaign.
Ange Postecoglou remains under heavy pressure, and while the win may have slightly altered their predicted finish, it has done nothing for his chances of surviving in North London.

Postecoglou unlikely to be phased by Tottenham win
Brennan Johnson scored twice for Tottenham as they brushed past Southampton, who are statistically set to go down as one of the worst Premier League teams in history, though Spurs still somehow managed to afford them a goal.
However, a win is a win, and Spurs will need many more of them to keep some momentum going into the Europa League to have any chance of success, with zero of that obtainable via the league.

Tottenham have had a season to forget.
According to the latest Opta supercomputer prediction, Spurs are forecasted to finish 14th on 45 points, just 20 clear of the drop zone.
That is a showcase of just how dismal Postecoglou’s side have been this season in the league, and changes will need to be made if that is to be avoided in the new campaign.

Quite frankly, it is almost impossible to envisage a scenario in which Postecoglou keeps his job in North London, the only question is when the day will arrive.
Europa League success is a must, though it’s unlikely to save Postecoglou his job after what has been a horrendous campaign.
A 14th-place finish for Spurs is embarrassing, and regardless of success, even if achieved, Postecoglou should not be afforded another chance off the back
