Eddie Howe in dreamland as Newcastle United granted £65m discount on ‘world-class talent’

Newcastle United sporting director Paul Mitchell is working hard behind the scenes to finalise top targets ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Magpies have been forced to play the second half of the Premier League season with a limited number of players following a slew of exits in the last two transfer windows.

Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh left Newcastle United last summer to help the club avoid a PSR breach, while Lloyd Kelly joined Juventus, and longstanding winger Miguel Almiron signed for Atlanta United during the January transfer window.
Those two recent exits have been damaging to Howe’s squad depth. Jacob Murphy is Newcastle’s only natural right winger in the first-team squad, although he has performed exceptionally in the circumstances. Murphy bagged a brace against Leicester City on Monday night before he was taken of for William Osula who can also play in that position but it more recognised as a striker.
Paul Mitchell is ready to give Eddie Howe new players at Newcastle. The sporting director is surely chomping at the bit to finally get the ball rolling with first-team signings after failing to bring in desired targets since joining last July.
With Mitchell continuing to work behind the scenes, a new report has claimed that Newcastle can now sign a highly sought-after star for a bargain compared to his previous asking price.

Newcastle United told new Tyler Dibling price tag
Tyler Dibling has been a standout player for a Southampton side that is one of, if not the worst, Premier League teams in history. At just 19 years old, Dibling has cemented his place in Southampton’s starting XI and even scored twice in the top flight this season.
Hailed as a ‘world-class talent’ by the Guardian, Dibling has his fair share of admirers in the Premier League and across Europe.
Reports in March claimed that Dibling would cost Newcastle £100m, with Southampton effectively issuing a hands-off warning to any interested party. Recent reports have also claimed that Dibling could leave Southampton for £60m.
Now, after Southampton’s relegation to the Championship is confirmed, a report from CaughtOffside has stated that Dibling is now available for a fee in the region €40m (£34.1m), a whopping discount of over £65m in comparison to their original asking price.
The report claims that Chelsea are among a long list of top clubs showing an interest in Dibling, with the likes of Manchester United and Bundesliga side RB Leipzig also showing an interest in the England under-21 international.

Dibling could be just one of many new faces who move to Tyneside in the summer, with Mitchell eager to give Howe a transformed squad to continue Newcastle’s push to the next level.
The Magpies are still in the running for Champions League football; qualification for that could be game-changing in terms of who the club can recruit this summer.
For Dibling, it may be the case that he is settled into the first-team environment in his opening season at Newcastle before becoming more of a regular feature the season after. Murphy’s form makes it difficult to drop him next season, no matter who they sign, but he will make way eventually for a younger right-wing talent.
Dibling is not the only right-winger Mitchell is chasing, either. Bryan Mbeumo is Howe’s ‘dream’ transfer target, but a £60m price tag could prove to be too much in the upcoming transfer window.
