Elsewhere, Newcastle are linked with Southampton’s Tyler Dibling. The young winger has garnered praise from fans and pundits alike for his impressive performances this season. Now, his former manager has taken the time to sing the 19-year-old’s praises.

While Southampton have been by far the worst team in the Premier League this season, Dibling has been a shining light despite only scoring two goals in the top flight.
Reports initially stated that Dibling had a £100m asking price, effectively causing most interested parties to back away from a deal. However, after Southampton’s relegation, a new report has claimed that Dibling will now cost Newcastle as little as £35m this summer, a bargain in comparison to what the Saints wanted for him.
After missing out on the first few games of the season, Dibling played regularly under Russell Martin who took Southampton up before being sacked last December.
Speaking on the Rest is Football alongside Gary Lineker, Martin was asked about Dibling and what he expects him to do in his career.
“Tyler has every capability to play for England and at the top level for a very long time because he’s powerful, really quick, both-footed, and he has a physicality where players just bounce off him,” Martin said.
“He has something about him that I’ve not seen in a British player for a very long time, to play in the middle of the park and to be able to swivel and go.
“He’ll play as a number eight or ten eventually, but he can play out wide too and even false nine, he played false nine for us in pre-season and he was our best player.
“He’s an amazing young man but he needs the right style of play and environment to really thrive.
“I don’t think he’ll be cheap but he’ll be worth every penny.”
Newcastle are not the only team interested in Dibling, reports elsewhere have stated that the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are big admirers of the England under-21 international.

Newcastle could soon be welcoming Dibling to Tyneside if all goes to plan this summer. A big boost for the youngster’s hopes of quickly settling into his new environment is that he has already played alongside a young Magpie this season.
Lewis Miley has been sensational in his limited appearances under Howe this season, even scoring in a 4-3 win against Nottingham Forest in February.
The good form has led Miley to receive call-ups to England’s under-21s, where he has taken the captain’s armband on two occasions.
Coincidentally, Miley captained Dibling in that team, with the 19-year-old playing on the right wing for England’s youth squad.
Dibling just missed out on playing alongside Newcastle defender Lewis Hall on the international stage. The 21-year-old received his first England call-up last November while Dibling and Miley played for the under-21s.
