£100,000-a-Week Star May Never Play for West Ham Again as agents are urgently exploring exit route

West Ham United midfielder Edson Alvarez may be on his way out of the club in the summer transfer window, according to reports – with the star thought to have had a bust-up in the build-up to the Irons’ draw vs Southampton over the weekend, by which he will be ‘free’ to look for a new club for next season.

Alvarez has barely featured for Graham Potter in recent matches, starting on the bench in their games against Merseyside duo Everton and Liverpool, featuring sporadically against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bournemouth and even being dropped completely against Southampton. And that could see the Irons look to sell their star in the summer after reports of a bust-up emerged from their Rush Green training ground.

Report: Alvarez ‘Bust-Up’ Could See Him Leave in Summer Window

The midfielder hasn’t featured in their previous two games

The report by Claret and Hugh states that West Ham are an ‘unhappy ship’ at the moment, with rows and rifts at the London Stadium – and that could see Alvarez leave the club in the summer.

The publication previously claimed that Alvarez has been informed that he is free to leave in the upcoming transfer window, with his representatives being told to ‘explore options’ for a move for next season.

However, an update on the situation on Thursday morning further claims that there has been a disagreement behind the scenes, which has accelerated the Hammers’ decision. A training ground source told Claret and Hugh:

“Something happened before the Southampton game, there was a disagreement—and I wouldn’t be surprised if he never played for West Ham again.”

Niclas Fullkrug’s infamous post-match rant after Southampton’s last-gasp 1-1 draw in east London over the weekend ‘captured the feeling’ of most of their first-team squad, accusing his teammates of lacking motivation and abandoning their style of play once they’d taken the lead – and with another summer of change likely to happen, Mexican midfielder Alvarez looks likely to depart the club on a permanent deal in the summer.

Alvarez, 27, joined from Ajax two seasons ago amid Declan Rice’s departure to Arsenal, for a fee of £35million on an estimated £100,000-per-week contract – and in 70 appearances, he’s scored two goals and three assists in his games for the Irons, though that could be coming to a sorrowful end with the reports of a bust-up.
