David Moyes’ four-player Everton transfer plan revealed’

Everton are planning to back David Moyes with a four-man spending spree as they weigh up their priorities ahead of the transfer window.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Everton are aiming to spend big this summer if possible.

Two new full-backs and two new wingers have emerged at the top of the Toffees’ list of targets as they eye wide-scale improvements to their starting XI.

Concerns have emerged about the ages of Seamus Coleman and Ashley Young, while Jack Harrison will return to Leeds and Jesper Lindstrom’s permanent move is unlikely.

This comes after Football Insider revealed on 14 April that Everton are prepared to back Moyes and he will be given funds to transform his team this summer.

Ahead of their move into the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium, ambitious plans are being put in place to rank among the European challengers next season.

Brown told Football Insider in February that Moyes wants to sign the next Iliman Ndiaye as he eyes new wide creative players to add to his squad.

Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and worked closely with Moyes during his time at West Ham, has insisted that wide players both in attack and defence will be the early priority for Everton.

David Moyes is going to be backed in the transfer market,” he told Football Insider.

“Everton want to improve and they know where they want to do it, because there are clear areas in that squad that need strengthening.

“The first thing they’ll do is look to strengthen their two full-backs and two wingers.

“Coleman is coming towards the end of his career, Ashley Young is 39 now, so there’s a couple of full-backs who need replacing for a start.

“Out on the wings, they’ve got the two loan players who I’m not convinced will stay permanently.

“Behind them, their options are already limited, so that will be at least two wingers they’ll be looking to bring in even just to stay as they are.

“So if they have the capability to spend big, they’re going to do it because they want to give Moyes the best chance of a strong season next year.”

As part of Everton’s ambitious transfer plans, they are also aiming to add some younger talent into their starting XI and reduce the average age of the squad.

Brown told Football Insider that Everton want to sign Sunderland star Chris Rigg and are currently the front-runners to reach an agreement with the Black Cats.

The likes of Man United, Tottenham, Chelsea, West Ham and Crystal Palace have all has scouts tracking the 17-year-old this season and could make a move.

This comes after Brown told Football Insider in November that Sunderland cannot resist big-money offers for Rigg if they fail in their bid for promotion to the Premier League.
