It was reported as early as November last year that the Hoops were set to incorporate the famous Scottish pattern into their latest Adidas home kit – as well as modelling their away strip on the famous ‘bumble bee’ look made famous in the late 90s.

And now various images have emerged of the design – with an unmistakable dash of tartan on the famous green hoops.
It isn’t the first time under Adidas that the German kit manufacturer has experimented with the Hoops.
The 2023/24 home kit had a somewhat darker shade of green with what was described as a ‘glass pattern’ running through it.
It wasn’t universally popular with fans – although it didn’t stop Ange Postecoglou and his men winning the title in it.

And last year’s black away strip featured Tartan detail on the collar and cuffs in a strip that is “wrapped in Scottish heritage” – ie a green and white plaid pattern on the collar, sat above a single button.
And Celtic fans will be hoping their heroes will be wearing this strip to a FIFTH title in a row, even if early reviews of the pictures from Hoops fans were mixed.
One wrote: “That looks like something I’d wear to my bed.”
A second said: “Why can’t we just have a normal kit.”
Another took a more charitable view: “It’ll fly off the shelves after all it’s the shirt of Champions.”
As for the bumble bee kit, it made its first appearance in 1996 and was manufactured by Umbro.
13 years later, Nike brought it back for the 2009/10 season.
And most recently, New Balance unleashed a somewhat more understated version of the kit for the 2015/16 season as the third kit.
