Celtic fans send a clear and strong message to Adidas after new kit deal announcement

Celtic announced a bumper new kit deal extension with Adidas this morning.

The Parkhead club continue their partnership with German sportswear giant after the five-year deal Celtic signed with Adidas back in 2020 neared its end.

At the time, the deal was reportedly worth £25m to Celtic and it was hailed as the largest in Scottish sporting history.

But now, after Michael Nicholson announced Celtic have extended their Adidas partnership, fans have sent a strong message to the kit wear supplier this morning.

Celtic fans demand one thing from Adidas after contract extension announcement

Celtic fans have forked out plenty of cash for the kits Adidas have supplied over the last few years and whilst some have been hugely popular there is one thing the supporters are demanding that they get right this time.

First off, there were many messages like this from fans:

However, as the news filtered throughout the fanbase, the message from the Celtic supporters was absolutely clear.

One fan replied, “Have we ever had a kit supplier get the hoops wrong on multiple occasions as bad as Adidas? Last seasons was horrendous. Next seasons looks bad as well. Literally one of the easiest kits to get right.”

Another supporter raged, “Adidas have made some utterly terrible template gear and looks like another terrible home top with broken hoops and black on it.” as another concerned fan replied, “Here’s to many more shite overpriced kits.”

Another fan replied, “Worst Celtic kits I’ve ever seen.” and another posted, “Stop putting black stripes on the home kit please.”

One Celtic fan had a novel idea directed to Adidas:

Celtic and Adidas need dialogue with fans

Like fans have said previously, the home kit design is probably the easiest to get right and the hardest to get wrong.

It’s clear from fan opinion that more needs to be done by both Celtic and Adidas to get this right. The club could commission a fan survey to gauge how supporters are feeling and any ideas they could generate to make kit designs more popular.

After all, if fans like what they see they will purchase more merchandise which will generate more cash for both Celtic and Adidas.

Win win, right?
