Yasir Al-Rumayyan gives strict £150m Newcastle United transfer order – supporters take note

Yasir Al-Rumayyan has reportedly told the Newcastle United hierarchy to reject all offers for Alexander Isak this summer.
Speculation has surrounded the Swede all season given his heroics in a black-and-white shirt. Isak has netted 26 goals across all competitions – his best figures as a professional.
Toon chiefs stumped up a club-record £63million to sign the striker from Real Sociedad in August 2022 and, at the time, the move appeared a gamble. Just six La Liga goals the previous season hardly made Isak feared across Europe but his talent had been known since the Euros in 2021.
Newcastle identified a young player who fit Eddie Howe’s philosophy and could be developed into an elite operator. That is exactly what Isak – crowned as a Toon legend following the Carabao Cup final – has become on Tyneside.

The 25-year-old has scored 53 goals in 83 Premier League games to attract reported interest from elsewhere. Arsenal and Liverpool are the two English clubs keen on his signature but know their chances of signing him remain slim.
Newcastle sit in a healthy negotiating position as Isak has three years left on his contract and no buyout clause. It would take an astronomical figure in excess of £150million to begin talks with the Magpies.
The Telegraph claim chairman and PIF governor Al-Rumayyan has ordered Toon chiefs to dismiss all offers. An earlier report after the Carabao Cup final named Isak as the 55-year-old’s favourite player.
Newcastle go into the summer with incomings as the priority – a drastic change from the previous three windows. Champions League qualification would boost their coffers further as the PSR situation – which has gripped the Magpies like a vice since the takeover – becomes more manageable.

Isak insisted he “loves” Newcastle to Swedish media following the Wembley win over Liverpool. He said: “There’s not much to say, really. I’ve commented on my situation and my security in Newcastle several times.
“It’s been written how much I love the city and the club, how well I feel there. I’m not thinking about the future. I just want to perform for Newcastle. Now we won the cup, but we want to finish strong and reach the Champions League games. That’s where my focus lies.
“There is a lot of writing outside but within the club no one is talking about anything like that. There is no reason for me to think about anything else (other than Newcastle). I feel incredibly comfortable at Newcastle. The only focus I have is on playing.”
