Chris Sutton has taken aim at Rangers ahead of Sunday’s Glasgow derby, offering a typically sharp reminder of the gulf between the two sides this season.

Rangers are looking to make it their third Glasgow Derby win on the trot, something that Chris Sutton has described as their own treble, meanwhile Celtic are looking to go for their fifth domestic trophy in a row, which would add a treble to last season’s Scottish Cup and League Title double.
Speaking on The Warm-Up, Sutton highlighted the contrasting campaigns for the rivals as Celtic close in on yet another domestic treble, while Rangers’ season continues to unravel.
“Rangers are on for a different treble, aren’t they, to Celtic?” he said on the The Warm-Up.
“Celtic are on for the real treble, proper trophies, and Rangers could possibly beat Celtic three times this season, which would be incredible if they do, and then, what’s the gap, 17 points? Which just shows how poor a season Rangers have had.”
No doubt, if Rangers do get the three points, Celtic will have to endure a full summer off ‘Rangers are coming next season’ and that Celtic were ‘lucky’ in their title, despite being the most consistent team over the season, and looking set to win the league by double point margin.
That said, Brendan Rodgers does need to show that he can play against Rangers and get a result. In the last three games, including the League Cup final, Rangers have outplayed Celtic, and the Hoops haven’t looked like they had answers. It’s up to Rodgers to change that narrative.
