Featuring in all of Brentford’s 38 Premier League matches, the 25-year-old chipped in with 20 goals and seven assists.
His final strike of the campaign came in the last game of the term on Sunday in a 1-1 draw away at Wolves.
With just one year left on his deal, Brentford know they may reluctantly have to part ways with the player to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
And the Red Devils are ready to test their resolve as boss Ruben Amorim looks to assemble a squad capable of getting back into Europe.

Brentford value Mbeumo around the £50million mark, with Newcastle also interested.
Bees boss Thomas Frank has already hinted that Mbeumo could be on the move and are powerless to keep him at the club.
Admitting he could depart the Gtech Community Stadium, Brentford boss Thomas Frank recently admitted: “I can definitely understand the interest in him.
“There should be interest in him. He is at his best age, he has scored 20 goals.
“I would like to keep him, but we are a selling club so if someone comes in with the right price.”
United are acting fast in their preparations for the new season having already agreed a deal to sign Wolves star Matheus Cunha in a £62.5m move.

And they are also keen to bring in Liam Delap from Ipswich Town with the striker boasting a relegation release clause worth £30m.
However, it is believed that Chelsea have overtaken the Red Devils as frontrunners in the race to secure his services.
The Blues are able to offer Delap Champions League football, while boss Enzo Maresca has previously worked with the youngster during his time as Manchester City’s assistant manager.
With Marcus Rashford set for a permanent exit away from United, Amorim is keen to reinforce in wide areas.
Amorim has also informed winger Alejandro Garnacho to find a new club – stressing the need for United to be active in bringing in new forward.
And with Mbeumo, they have a player who is guaranteed goals, with only Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak and Erling Haaland scoring more in the Premier League this campaign.

Newcastle United have been given a clear message regarding their interest in Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.
It has been reported that Newcastle want to sign Mbeumo, as Eddie Howe aims to bring a new right winger to St James’ Park.
Newcastle want three key signings this summer, and it is vital that a winger is one of them. With Jacob Murphy the only out-and-out right winger at St James’ Park at the moment, the Magpies are in need of more depth.
They believe Mbeumo can provide that. In truth, Mbeumo could be Newcastle’s perfect signing.

Brentford’s stance on selling Bryan Mbeumo
But a deal will not be easy. Brentford’s director of football Phil Giles has spoken about Mbeumo’s future, admitting that not many clubs will be able to sign the 25-year-old.
Newcastle United are hoping they fall into that category, and the Toon recruitment have been given encouragement that a deal could be possible.
According to Sky Sports, Brentford are willing to listen to offers for Mbeumo this summer.
They report that there is an acceptance at Brentford that the Cameroon international has earned a move away.
However, Sky Sports add that Brentford will only sanction a deal if their asking price is met, with the Bees looking for a fee in excess of £60million.
That would make him one of Newcastle’s most expensive signings ever. Alexander Isak currently holds the record, costing £63million in August 2022.
Mbeumo ticks two boxes for Newcastle United
Newcastle United are going to have to commit a huge chunk of their budget towards Mbeumo if they are serious about signing him.
With the Magpies also aiming to sign a centre-back, a goalkeeper and a striker, the club might be reluctant to spend so much money on one player.
However, Mbeumo can fill two roles. While he is primarily a right winger, he is also capable of playing as a central striker.
That versatility will appeal to Eddie Howe, who is eager to provide more cover for Alexander Isak.
