Raphinha was among those who have expressed their delight at seeing Leeds earn their way back into the Premier League, sending a message to the West Yorkshire outfit in April.

It is worth noting that the Brazil international left Elland Road three years ago, which is longer than he spent with the Peacocks.

However, he remains revered in LS11 for his contributions during that two-year spell, and it is safe to say that the feeling is mutual.

Leeds United react to Raphinha winning La Liga

That is why Leeds United have reciprocated the affection shown by Raphinha towards them in the wake of his triumph with Barcelona.

The Catalan giants clinched the La Liga title with a 2-0 victory over Espanyol on Thursday (15 May), thus being crowned champions of Spain with two games left.

Raphinha‘s role in Barcelona’s road to glory cannot be understated, having bagged 18 goals and 11 assists in 34 La Liga appearances.

And now, Leeds have congratulated the 28-year-old for winning his second league title with the Blaugrana.

“Champions of the league. Congratulations, Raphinha and Barca!”, Leeds United wrote on their Spanish X handle (15 May).

The post was also reshared on the Whites’ official account.

Leeds to replicate Raphinha trick

Raphinha was one of Leeds United’s best signings in the wake of their promotion to the Premier League in 2020.

The left-footer went on to score 17 goals and provide 12 assists for the Elland Road outfit in 67 appearances across all competitions.

The Whites will be hopeful of signing similar players, as they prepare for their return to the top flight next season.

Farke will be aware of the increasing competition in the Premier League, having seen all three promoted teams of last season falling straight back down to the Championship.
