The Liverpool midfielder recently revealed he will explore his options over the summer before deciding whether he stays at the club, admitting he doesn’t want to be ‘wasting years’ of his career.

Elliott joined the Reds as a 16-year-old in 2019, where he has gone on to feature 147 times, the majority of which have been as a substitute.
His playing time was particularly limited last term, starting just two of his 18 Premier League appearances as his side stormed to the league title in Arne Slot‘s first season in charge.
This represented a disappointing campaign for the Englishman compared to the season before, where he played a total of 53 games, including 27 starts, and registered four goals and 11 assists.
And Elliott has now admitted his lack of playing time has left him considering his future at Anfield.

Speaking ahead of England’s under-21 European Championship campaign in Slovakia this summer, he revealed he will hold talks with Liverpool before deciding his next move.
Elliott said: “It’s just a situation that me and the team have to have a conversation about because I’m coming into an age now where I’m 22, I’m going to be 23 next season.
“I don’t really want to be wasting years [of] my career, because it’s a short career. You don’t know what’s going to happen.
“I need to reflect. I need to see if I’m content in doing what I’m doing and how can I improve as a player because that’s the most important thing.
“I just want to improve and be the best possible version of myself. If that’s to go somewhere else, then it’s a decision that I’m going to have to make and I just need to see what happens.”
Despite having his career prospects to weigh up, Elliott conceded he would sooner not leave his boyhood club.
