Vladimir Coufal is a name that’s been quite heavily linked with Leeds United this summer, after the Czech international’s release at West Ham.
Vladimir Coufal is one of the many full-backs to have been linked with a move to Leeds United so far this summer, as Daniel Farke looks to be really casting his net out to solve what is a real problem position in his side.
On both sides of defence, with Junior Firpo’s Leeds United future uncertain as ever, there’s a desperate need for numbers and after West Ham decided to release Coufal, he could now make the switch to Leeds United this summer.
Leeds United are also interested in Tomas Soucek at the Boleyn Ground although a move for Coufal’s Czech teammate and friend doesn’t seem as likely as a move for Coufal himself. Recently, Soucek gave his verdict on Coufal leaving West Ham, insisting he wants to know the club he’s choosing next.
And it seems as though Coufal has his share of options.

A recent report from journalist Pete O’Rourke revealed how Coufal has a growing number of suitors in the Premier League, including Everton, Wolves, and Fulham. A subsequent report then suggested that Coufal would prefer to join Everton this summer, linking up with former Hammers boss David Moyes.
But now it’s been revealed by CaughtOffside that Coufal has not only informed his agents that he wants to stay in the Premier League going into next season, but that there’s not yet been any contact between Coufal and either Leeds United or Everton so far this summer.
For Leeds United, it’s certainly a lifeline in the race to sign Coufal. But for the West Ham veteran, a reunion with Moyes at Everton could prove much more preferable than a move to Leeds United, especially given how much the last six promoted teams have struggled in the top flight.

Robert Snodgrass is already a huge fan of Vladimir Coufal
Leeds United fans are keen on Coufal moving to Elland Road this summer. He’s a player with vast Premier League experience with 147 top flight appearances to his name, and someone who can both defend and attack.
Last season we saw how Firpo and Jayden Bogle both got so involved with the attacks and expect Farke to want the same from his full-backs next season, too. And Farke will surely love previous comments from former Leeds man Robert Snodgrass on Coufal.
Speaking back in 2021, Snodgrass gave his verdict on Leeds United target Coufal, saying: “Vladimir is a clever footballer. Disciplined and follows tactical instructions very well. He loves to bomb forward and can deliver a mean cross.”
He certainly sounds like a manager’s dream, and a player who could really complement the Leeds United style of play under Farke.
