There are a number of positions across the pitch where Celtic will be looking to bring in reinforcements during the 2025 summer transfer window. Of course, the wings fall in that category. Jota suffered a long-term injury towards the end of last season, which could rule him out for the rest of the year. On the other hand, there are serious question marks around the future of Nicolas Kuhn, who is drawing interest from teams like Newcastle United and RB Leipzig.
So, Celtic could need to strengthen on the flanks. On the other hand, it is believed that the club are in search of a number 10 as well. What if they sign someone capable of playing in all three of those positions?
Of course, their eyes will be on players whose contracts are running out, as we have already seen the arrival of Kieran Tierney and Ross Doohan. In Glasgow World’s list of midfielders Celtic or Rangers could sign for free this summer, one of the names included is that of Robert Navarro.
Navarro came through the ranks at Barcelona but was not able to make it their at the senior level. He then had spells at AS Monaco, Real Sociedad and Mallorca, and has also been a regular part of Spain at youth international levels.
Celtic tipped to sign former Barcelona player for free
Now 23 years of age, Navarro finds himself without a contract. And even though we have never seen his best at the senior level, he is being linked with Athletic Bilbao.
That goes on to show how highly the 23-year-old is still regarded. And a move to a club like Celtic could be the right step for him to finally make the breakthrough, just like it proved to be for Kuhn.
It remains to be seen if Celtic do consider a move for Navarro at some point this summer. Right now, this is merely a suggestion.
