Everton to fight Tottenham for free agent Walker-Peters
Everton are in dire need of reinforcements at the back.
Jarrad Branthwaite is edging closer to a Toffees exit this summer, with multiple clubs interested in the centre-back.
Therefore, David Moyes is eyeing further signings to help compensate for the potential loss.
According to Football London (20 June), Everton are looking to sign Walker-Peters.
The full-back’s departure from Southampton is expected in July when his contract expires and he officially becomes a free agent.

However, Moyes faces competition from Tottenham and Wolves for his signature.
The report states that Walker-Peters would be keen on a move back to Spurs, with the London club aiming to add a club-trained option to their squad.
This could no doubt cause complications to Everton’s pursuit. However, Spurs are likely to focus on other areas first, which could help the Toffees seal the deal.
Walker-Peters would be an excellent signing for Moyes
Additions at full-back are needed at Everton, and there is arguably no better player available than Walker-Peters for the price.
The defender is still just 28 years old and could easily play in the Premier League for another five years.
On top of this, Walker-Peters has excellent experience in the division and would count as a homegrown player.
On a free transfer, the right-back is a bargain, and Moyes has to ensure that he gets the transfer over the line ready for their arrival at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
