Mark Travers is due to undergo a medical at Everton. The goalkeeper is closing on a move after the Blues advanced in negotiations with his club, Bournemouth.
The 26-year-old would become the third signing of the summer and strengthen an area in need of support following multiple departures.
Travers has been Bournemouth’s back-up through recent years and spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough. The ECHO reported he was of interest to the Everton last week.

His 24 Premier League appearances to date include the final match of the 2022/23 season, when Abdoulaye Doucoure’s goal secured a win over Bournemouth that guaranteed Everton’s top-flight survival.
Travers’ departure from the Cherries would come with the club having agreed a deal with Chelsea for Djorde Petrovic.

Finding an experienced back-up to Jordan Pickford is a priority this summer following the exits of Joao Virginia and Asmir Begovic when their contracts expired last month.
Billy Crellin and Slovenia Under-21s international Zan-Luk Leban also left the club, leaving Harry Tyrer as the only keeper beyond Pickford with senior experience.
Tyrer has spent the past two seasons on loan, at Chesterfield then Blackpool. The 23-year-old was the senior keeper at the club’s pre-season training camp in Scotland last week with Pickford having been given an extended break after his international excursions this summer.
Should the deal get over the line, Travers would follow the signings of Carlos Alcaraz and Thierno Barry as David Moyes continues to overhaul his Blues squad ahead of the first season at the Hill Dickson Stadium.
