Leeds United have reached an agreement in principle to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a free agent after his departure from Everton.
The 28-year-old striker is set to undergo a medical at training ground Thorp Arch imminently, with a view to completing the move.
Calvert-Lewin has been available since he confirmed in June that he would be leaving the Merseyside club as a free agent when his contract expired.
He spent nine years at Goodison Park after joining from Sheffield United in 2016. He scored 71 goals in 274 appearances for Everton but his time at the club was plagued by injuries.
Everton had offered the forward a new deal last summer, but an agreement never materialised.
After announcing his intention to leave Everton, Calvert-Lewin posted on Instagram: “This isn’t something I chose lightly.
“Everton has been my home since I was 19 years old. It’s the place that saw potential in me, challenged me to grow, and shaped me both as a footballer and as a man.”
The forward would be the West Yorkshire club’s eighth signing of the summer as they return to the Premier League after winning the Championship last season. The other striker they have signed is Lukas Nmecha from German side Wolfsburg.
Calvert-Lewin has played 11 times for England, scoring four goals though his last cap came in 2021.
