Wolves Set to Sign Girona’s Ladislav Krejci in €30m Deal
Wolverhampton Wanderers are on the verge of securing a major signing, with an agreement nearly finalized to bring Girona’s versatile defender Ladislav Krejci to Molineux for a fee exceeding €30m (£26m). The 26-year-old Czech international has emerged as a prime target for Wolves, who are keen to bolster their defensive options following a 4-0 defeat to Manchester City in their Premier League opener.
Krejci, who joined Girona from Sparta Prague in 2024 for €8m, impressed in La Liga last season, making 36 appearances with two goals and an assist. His ability to play as a centre-back, defensive midfielder, or even left-back offers tactical flexibility for Wolves’ manager Vitor Pereira. Krejci’s leadership, honed as Sparta Prague’s captain during back-to-back Czech titles, and his 20 caps for the Czech Republic, including starts at Euro 2024, add further appeal.
With personal terms reportedly agreed, the deal is in its final stages. This signing would mark Wolves’ fifth addition this summer, following Jhon Arias, Fer Lopez, Jackson Tchatchoua, and David Moller Wolfe. The move signals Wolves’ ambition to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes, aiming to avoid a repeat of their early-season struggles.
