Leeds United have agreed a £10million deal to sign defender James Justin from Leicester City.
The 27-year-old, who was left out of the Leicester squad to face Charlton Athletic on Saturday, is having a medical ahead of his proposed move to Elland Road, according to The Telegraph.
Daniel Farke’s side have been in the market for a versatile full-back for some time and Justin had emerged as a potential target when interest first emerged last month.
However, Justin started the 2025/26 season at Leicester and captained the Foxes during their Championship curtain-raiser against Sheffield Wednesday. He missed the Carabao Cup exit at Huddersfield Town before once again leading Marti Cifuentes’ side out for last weekend’s trip to Preston.
Although Justin limped off during Leicester’s defeat at Deepdale, his issue isn’t thought to be serious despite missing City’s win at Charlton this weekend.
Justin travelled up to West Yorkshire on Sunday to undergo his Leeds medical and put the finishing touches on his proposed transfer. He is now expected to become the club’s ninth signing of the summer.
The Whites have signed Lukas Nmecha, Jaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Sean Longstaff, Lucas Perri, Anton Stach, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Ofakor during the transfer window.
Should Justin’s move go through, Leeds’ spending is set to break the £100m mark as Farke’s side attempt to remain in the Premier League.
Justin moved to Leicester in a £7m deal from Luton Town in 2019 and has made 168 appearances for the Foxes in that time, winning the FA Cup, Community Shield and the Championship title in that time.
As well as this, Justin earned his first and only England cap back in 2022, as he started the Nations League trip to Hungary. He has not featured in a squad for the Three Lions since, however.
Following a 1-0 win against Everton on the opening weekend, Leeds suffered a damning 5-0 defeat at Arsenal in their second outing. Viktor Gyokeres and Jurrien Timber scored twice for the Gunners, while Bukayo Saka also found the net as the Whites were hammered at the Emirates Stadium.
Despite the scoreline, Farke wasn’t too disheartened with his side’s performance. He said: “Yes, I think it’s fair to say that Arsenal deserved to win this game today. They were the better side. They deserved also to win this game with a good proper goal difference.
