I Wouldn’t Have Believed You: Jack Grealish Says One Thing Has Really Surprised Him Since Joining Everton

Jack Grealish has expressed his delight at joining Everton, describing the move as a significant milestone in his career. “I’m over the moon to have signed for Everton. It’s massive for me, honestly. This is a great club with great fans,” Grealish enthused. What surprised him most, however, was the overwhelming support from Everton’s passionate fanbase. “I’ve been flooded with messages from Everton supporters on social media. I wouldn’t have believed the level of love and support before I got here—that’s what really shocked me and made me certain I chose the right club.”

Grealish revealed that his conversation with Everton manager David Moyes was pivotal in his decision. “As soon as I spoke to the manager, I knew Everton was the only place I wanted to be,” he said. “I want to thank the fans for all the messages. I hope I can repay that love on the pitch, and I’m sure I will.”
Moyes, equally enthusiastic, believes the timing of Grealish’s arrival is perfect. “We’re getting him at a great time. He’s experienced, knows the Premier League inside out, and we all know the quality he can bring,” Moyes said. “We’re excited to work with him and give him the platform to show his best.”

Grealish, who made 157 appearances for Manchester City after his £100 million ($135m) transfer from Aston Villa in 2021, scored 17 goals and provided 23 assists during his time there. He played a crucial role in City’s 2023 treble but has struggled to maintain that form recently. With the 2026 World Cup looming, Grealish aims to secure regular playing time at Everton to cement his place in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.
