Everton fans explode after deal agreed with Leeds owners – ‘Sick joke’

Everton fans have been left raging after the club confirmed their latest sponsorship agreement with Red Bull to become their official energy drink partner.

The club have been in search of additional sponsorship opportunities following their recent struggles with finances behind the scenes at Goodison Park.

Red Bull’s sponsorship comes following their increased investment in English football, having bought shares in Leeds before sponsoring Newcastle, with Everton the latest on their list.

However, many Blues supporters are less than enthused about the prospect of having the drinks brand associated with the club – simply because of the “Red” in their name.

The club’s intense rivalry with Liverpool means some simply will not accept having anything to do with the colour anywhere involved with the club.

Some even called back to Ronald Koeman’s time as the boss at Goodison, when an image of his red Christmas decorations led to backlash from supporters.

Now, following the club’s official sponsorship announcement, they have received a similar response from the supporters.
Everton fans fume at new Red Bull sponsorship announcement

Everton’s rivalry with Liverpool has led to some seemingly petty situations in the past, with this the latest as Red Bull faces backlash from the fans.

Despite the opportunity for increased revenue which should ultimately help the club in both the short and long-term future, supporters are not impressed.

Replying to the club’s announcement on social media, fans have expressed their anger at the decision as they hit out at both Everton and Red Bull.

Red bull. RED bull. RED?! I don’t know how much longer I can support this club. What a joke
