Lloyd Kelly could be set for a Premier League return next season, with Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest all closely monitoring the Juventus defender ahead of a possible summer move.
Kelly initially joined Juventus on loan from Newcastle during the 2025 winter transfer window before the Italian giants made the move permanent in the summer. The defender struggled to establish himself at St James’ Park, but his fortunes improved significantly in Serie A, where he became a regular starter on the left side of Juventus’ defence.
The 26-year-old made 35 appearances across all competitions last season and played an important role in Juventus’ defensive setup. However, the Bianconeri’s failure to qualify for the Champions League has tightened finances in Turin, forcing the club to consider player sales this summer.
According to Italian outlet Tutto Juve, Aston Villa, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest all view Kelly as a “reliable prospect” capable of adapting quickly to Premier League football. Juventus have not made a final decision regarding his future, but reports suggest the Serie A side would seriously consider offers in the region of €35 million.
Aston Villa may hold an advantage in the race due to their involvement in European football next season following their Europa League triumph under Unai Emery. However, Kelly’s final decision could depend more on guaranteed playing time and the overall project presented to him.
Newcastle remain interested despite allowing him to leave previously, with Eddie Howe still aware of the defender’s qualities. The Magpies are expected to strengthen defensively after missing out on European qualification last season.
Nottingham Forest are also eager to reinforce their squad and remain active in the transfer market as they continue pushing ambitious recruitment plans.
With three years still remaining on Kelly’s contract, Juventus are under no pressure to sell, but Premier League interest could quickly accelerate negotiations in the coming weeks.
