All the latest injury news surrounding Aston Villa and Crystal Palace as they prepare to face off in the Premier League.
Crystal Palace are preparing to return to action this weekend as they return from the international break still looking for their second win of the campaign. The Eagles have struggled so far this season, and they face another big test this weekend, taking on top four hopefuls Aston Villa away from home.
Oliver Glasner and Palace have been plagued by injuries so far this season, and the international break will have been pivotal, with no more breaks this side of 2025. In that vein, we have rounded up all the latest injury news surrounding Palace and Villa ahead of Saturday’s clash.
Amadou Onana – Out
Onana is not expected to return from his foot injury until the start of December. He tore a muscle in his foot during international duty.
Ross Barkley – Doubt
Barkley is expected to return from a knock here, but he remains a doubt for now.

Matt Cash – Doubt
Cash is in a similar situation.
Boubacar Kamara – Doubt
Unai Emery said of Kamara before the break: “He felt it during the game, something in his hamstring, but he was fighting for the team until almost the end. Now he has problems, and let’s see how long it will take.”
Pau Torres – Doubt
Emery said of the centre-back: “The international defender arrived with muscular discomfort and, after the tests carried out by the Medical Services, he leaves the group to avoid any risk of injury.” He is expected to be okay here.
Jacob Ramsey – Doubt
Emery said of Ramsey before the break: “Hamstring. He was feeling something.” There has been no clear information since.
Ezri Konsa – Doubt
Konsa picked up a knock during international duty with England and will be assessed.
Ian Maatsen – Doubt
Maatsen is also being assessed after a knock that saw him pull out of the Netherlands under-21s squad.
Matheus Franca – Out
Franca is out until the new year with Glasner having said: “He is too far away. I don’t think that he will play many games or even one game in for us. We expected Franca to be back within two to three months and he’s still out.”
Daichi Kamada – Out
Kamada is suspended for this one after a red card.
Chadi Riad – Doubt
Riad has been out with a knee injury and he is expected to return after the break. Though, it does look as though it will take another week or so.
Adam Wharton – Out
Wharton is another the break would have helped but could require a little more time. Glasner said before the internationals:” He tried [to train] today, but there’s too much pain. He’s really struggled the last weeks and months, and so now we took the decision he will have surgery, and we hope to have him back after, let’s say, four weeks.”
Jefferson Lerma – Doubt
Lerma has been struggling with a thigh injury, but he should return here.
Eberechi Eze – Doubt
Glasner said before the break: “He has a hamstring injury, and we will miss him for at least against Wolves and against Fulham. Then we have the break, and then let’s see. There is hope [he will return after that], but it will be very ambitious.” It looks as though the start of November is more realistic for Eze.
Eddie Nketiah – Doubt
We don’t know a whole lot about Nketiah’s injury, with Glasner having said: “He felt it during the game, something in his hamstring, but he was fighting for the team until almost the end. Now he has problems, and let’s see how long it will take.”
Holding is not currently part of Glasner’s plans due to off the field issues between the two.
