Sean Dyche can’t be blamed for Everton drawing 0-0 with Brentford after they had almost 30 efforts at goal, Jeff Stelling has said.
Speaking on talkSPORT (25 November, 9:48am), Stelling hit back at criticism aimed towards Dyche after the goalless draw at Goodison Park on 23 November, having heard they had 27 shots in the game.

With Brentford down to 10 men from 41 minutes onwards, the Blues still couldn’t find a way through, making it two 0-0 stalemates in a row and the third straight game in which they’ve failed to score.
Stelling said: “I heard, can’t think of where it was, that they had 27 attempts on goal.
“Now you can’t blame Sean Dyche then, can you? You’ve got to look at the people who are having those attempts on goal.”

Despite having 27 shots to Brentford’s nine on Saturday, the Toffees could only muster a mere five which were on target [FotMob] and created just one big chance compared to the Bees’ two at Goodison.
Dyche will take stock of his side producing ample attempts on goal but will know better than most that if their finishing doesn’t improve, they will only slide one way down the Premier League table.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is still yet to add to the goal he scored in the Blues’ 3-2 defeat at Aston Villa just four games into the season, yet the striker seemingly remains the only choice to start up front.
Beto’s bench cameos have been more effective – particularly against Fulham – but increasing reports that he could leave in January may leave Dyche going back to square one in terms of striker options.
It remains to be seen if Armando Broja can hit the ground running once he finally makes his long-awaited Toffees debut, and with Dyche coming under pressure, he’ll certainly be hoping so.
