Sean Dyche Responds to Neal Maupay’s Viral Tweets

The former Everton striker sent social media into meltdown with his comments about his parent club

Sean Dyche has played down the importance of French striker Neal Maupay’s recent tweets about Everton. The 28-year-old recently angered Toffee supporters when he took to social media to say: “Whenever I’m having a bad day, I just check the Everton score and smile.”

The former France Under 21 international is still contracted to the Merseyside club, though he has not appeared for them since having had loan spells at Brentford and currently Ligue 1 side Marseille. However, when asked about the comments in a recent press conference, Dyche confirmed that the striker would face no disciplinary action and reiterated that he had more important things to worry about than the forward’s remarks.

“I think it’s fair to say that there’s a bigger picture to Everton Football Club that I am focusing on,” the former Burnley boss stated. “I don’t think I need to be too worried about his comments.

“I don’t think we’ll be worried about that [disciplinary action]. I don’t think we’ll be worried about any of that.”
