Everton are doing their due diligence on Gareth Southgate as Graham Potter appears set for West Ham, according to Everton.news.
The news outlet reported on 8 January that sources claim that while Sean Dyche will be given the chance to turn things around the decision has been made not to sack him, work continues to go on behind the scenes with regards to a suitable replacement.

Former England manager Southgate is an option being considered by The Friedkin Group but he isn’t the only one.
Gareth Southgate does not seem to be the right fit for Everton
Southgate’s primary success has been with the England national team, where the dynamics of managing players on a part-time basis differ significantly from the day-to-day demands of club management.
His tenure at Middlesbrough, his only significant club management role, ended in relegation, highlighting a lack of experience in building a competitive club side over a full season.
The former Three Lions manager’s approach with England was criticised for being too cautious and not promoting an expansive style of football, which contrasts with what the Goodison Park faithful might desire after Dyche’s pragmatic tactics.
The Toffees, under the new owners, need a manager who can not only manage but also inspire and develop a squad on a daily basis, something Southgate’s record does not convincingly demonstrate, given he has not managed a club since 2009.
Someone like Max Allegri, while pragmatic, has the aura of a big-name manager, and that’s a move that could work.

However, Southgate will be a hard sell to the fans and someone who the new owners should avoid.
In other Everton news, an update has emerged on who will be the next CEO with The Friedkin Group making moves.
