Richarlison sends emotional farewell message after major Everton development

Richarlison’s days at Tottenham appear to be numbered, with a return to Everton on the cards.

Richarlison has struggled since making a big-money move to Tottenham almost three years ago.

The Brazilian found some form midway through Ange Postecoglou’s first season in North London. However, the striker has struggled with injuries this year.

Therefore, with the UEFA Europa League final against Manchester United on the horizon, Richarlison will be keen to deliver in what could be one of his final acts in a Tottenham shirt.

Spurs spent £60m on Richarlison, and the 28-year-old has failed to live up to his pricetag. As a result, a Tottenham exit is on the cards for the forward.

A return to Everton has been rumoured, and Richarlison may have fueled these musings after his latest post to Instagram (18 May).

Tottenham should sell Richarlison this summer

Tottenham should consider making Richarlison’s rumoured departure a reality this summer after several seasons of unreliability and disappointment.

If not for the fact that posting his former club could indicate the Brazilian’s desire to leave, Spurs should want players who are 100 per cent committed to the club.

While Richarlison is available for the Europa League final at the Estadio de San Mamés on Wednesday (21 May), he has played just 6 games in the competition this season.

Indeed, he is a talented striker, but reliability will remain the best ability, and with Tottenham anticipating movement in the transfer window, they would be wise to cash in and invest e

lsewhere.

Richarlison would be keen on a return to Everton if his old side come in for him this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The 27-year-old is attracting interest from Everton, almost three years on from his Goodison Park exit – which became necessary for financial reasons.

But Richarlison has not featured regularly for Tottenham and would be open to returning to Merseyside in the off-season.

David Moyes wants to improve his Everton squad with striking reinforcements and has made the decision to press ahead with a deal for a new forward even if Dominic Calvert-Lewin signs a new contract.

Everton to negotiate Doucoure deal

Football Insider revealed on Monday (10 March) that Everton are set to renegotiate terms with Abdoulaye Doucoure after declining to activate his one-year extension clause.

It is believed the Merseyside club will seek to reduce Doucoure’s wages in a renewed contract.

His current deal is set to expire, like Calvert-Lewin‘s, in June.
