There was a breakthrough earlier in the week, as Everton sealed the signing of Thierno Barry from Villarreal.
Adding an exciting addition up front will certainly excite Everton fans, but it is clear Moyes is not happy to dwell on landing Barry.
Angus Kinnear is aware of the work needed at Everton this summer, and the clock is already ticking to their departure for the Summer Series.
With both improved quality and squad depth needed, Everton are now holding talks over their next addition after the France U21 striker.

Everton hold talks with Mark Travers
Joao Virginia and Asmir Begovic both left Everton earlier this summer as free agents; they are both still looking for new clubs.
This has left Everton’s options extremely limited between the sticks outside of Jordan Pickford.
According to the Daily Mail, Everton have now begun talks with Mark Travers to potentially become their new number two goalkeeper.
It is claimed Moyes has now demanded a proven backup for Pickford, as Travers talks continue in the background.
Although talks are taking place, no agreement has been struck just yet between the two parties.
Moyes has made it no secret he wants new signings fast following the return of his squad at Finch Farm for pre-season training.
A huge amount of work is still needed, and the pressure is certainly being piled on Kinnear and the recruitment staff.

David Moyes can attract players to Everton
There is an awful lot going for Everton this summer having salvaged their season after the appointment of Moyes.
Everton hope the new stadium can attract better players, with the Toffees eyeing the likes of Jack Grealish.
However, there is also evidence their 62-year-old manager can pull new signings into the club.
The new striker signing admitted this much during his arrival on Merseyside, where Barry shared the conversations he had with Moyes.
It may only be July, but Moyes and the fans will want to see players quickly begin to land at Finch Farm.

Everton are back in action next week with two local friendlies, with games away to Accrington Stanley and Blackburn Rovers.
It could provide Thierno Barry with the opportunity to make his Everton debut following his move being completed earlier this week.
Moyes convinced Barry to sign for Everton, and his arrival will provide an interesting training ground battle for the spot in the starting XI.
With Barry set to join up with his new teammates, current striker Beto is already hard at work in training.

Barry is expected to become Everton’s starting striker, but that will not be without a battle in pre-season with Beto.
The 27-year-old really impressed in spells under Moyes last season and he will be looking to hit the ground running in training.
Everton have recently posted some footage from a recent training session, which shows Beto in action.
The striker was battling in a one-on-one drill with Vitaliy Mykolenko where he was able to come out on top and score.
Moyes was clearly delighted with Beto and his work rate in the blazing heat, as he could be heard shouting his praise.
“Yeah, well done, Beto! Keep going,” said Moyes, with the other coaches also getting in on the praise.
Benfica are showing interest in Beto following the signing of Barry, but it is apparent this is not affecting the striker’s effort in Everton training.
It was not just Beto who was impressing, as Carlos Alcaraz could also be seen in action as a permanent Everton player.

Thierno Barry will have to displace Beto
Moyes was keen to sign Barry after being impressed by the youngster’s natural ability.
However, the 62-year-old manager has also made it clear that he is aware the 22-year-old will require some time to settle into his new surroundings.
“We will give him plenty of time to settle in, and we are looking forward to getting started working with him as soon as possible,” said Moyes.
Barry has shown he is capable of settling in quickly to a new club having only signed for Villarreal last summer.
In an ideal world, Barry will hit the ground running and some early goals will help ease the pressure, but for now, it is apparent Beto is still ready to give it his all for the Toffees.
