Crystal Palace are said to be pushing ahead with their efforts to sign a new attacker.
Crystal Palace are now said to have submitted a bid for an attacker as they look to find a replacement for Eberechi Eze. Eze is being linked with a move away from Selhurst Park after another hugely impressive season that finished with an FA Cup-winning goal at Wembley Stadium.
The Eagles are in the throws up a crucial summer as they look to strengthen for what should be an exciting campaign. The FA Cup win means Palace will be playing European football for the first time next term, and Oliver Glasner is going to need more quality and depth to compete on all fronts.
Glasner will also want his side to continue moving forward in the Premier League, but the biggest challenge will be dealing with potential exits this summer. Marc Guehi and Eze are the leading candidates, with the former in the final year of his contract and the latter looking very much ready to join a top club.
A number of clubs have been linked with Eze, including Arsenal and Tottenham, and it seems as though Palace are preparing for a potential exit, with Eze currently having a release clause worth £68million.
According to Il Resto del Carlino, Palace have made a formal offer to sign The 24-year-old winger has a reported asking price of £42.3million, and he is under contract with Bologna until 2027. Ndoye is a winger who can also play in the number 10 role, making him an ideal replacement for Eze.
The Switzerland international made 41 appearances last season, scoring nine and assisting five. Bologna finished ninth in Serie A last season and Nodye was central to their efforts in securing a top-half finish, so it’s no surprise that the Italian club are determined to get big money for him this season, especially with reports of interest from elsewhere in Italy this summer.
Ndoye on his style
Speaking in the spring about his style and approach, Ndoye told Blue Sports: “I always try to give my best on the pitch, then things happen naturally. I like the responsibility, I like it when I can make the difference. I know that I have to prove something, that I have to be on top of my game all the time. I like that, having a bit of pressure, that’s not bad.”
He added: “I was often accused of not being efficient enough. I’m trying to be indispensable. The most important thing for me is to play well, regardless of scoring points. I’ve always wanted to be one of the best on the pitch, even if I don’t score a goal.”
On the need to enjoy football, the attacker continued: “For me, the basis of football is to have fun. I’ve enjoyed playing football since I was four years old. To live today what I’ve always wanted to live without enjoying it would be a bit silly. That’s why every time I step onto the football pitch, I do it with a smile.”
