On Saturday evening, it was revealed that Leeds have lodged a second bid to sign Paixao from the Dutch club, and are keen on wrapping up a deal as soon as possible.
Now in their third summer as majority shareholders, the 49ers have been burned by hijacks and higher offers from rivals clubs multiple times and losing out on Paixao would sting, given the calibre of player in question.
However, a big boost comes from L’Equipe this evening, who report that Leeds’ second bid is expected to be accepted by Feyenoord, a fee that is well-received in the Netherlands.
“It must be said that the Marseille club is facing fierce competition from Leeds United in this matter. And the English club appears on the verge of reaching an agreement with Feyenoord after an offer of €32million, including bonuses, this weekend,” the report reads.
As claimed above, Leeds’ second bid with bonuses included amounts to around £28million, which would make it the biggest signing of the summer so far.
