Leeds United have made an attempt to sign Sassuolo’s Andrea Pinamonti this summer.
That’s according to journalist Alfredo Pedullà, and he reports Leeds have been following the 26-year-old for a long time.
The striker scored 11 goals and registered an assist from 37 games for the Serie A side last season. His performances have caught Leeds and Atalanta’s attention.
Pedullà claims La Dea have made contact for the Italy international, and Sassuolo would be open to a sale if there’s a suitable offer.
The journalist reports Leeds have found an agreement with Sassuolo, without providing any further details of the terms agreed between the two clubs.
That may not matter as the frontman has turned down a move to Elland Road and there’s no explanation for his rejection.
Daniel Farke’s side will have to convince the player to move to Elland Road, to get this operation over the line.
With Mateo Joseph set to join RCD Mallorca on loan and Patrick Bamford left out of Farke’s plans, Lukas Nmecha and Joe Gelhardt are the other two strikers at Elland Road. If Leeds can’t convince Pinamonti, they will have to quickly look elsewhere for a new striker.
