David Moyes has admitted it’s been a tough summer, with many of Everton’s top targets rejecting them for clubs in Europe.
Although, it has been a much more positive month than last, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Jack Grealish joining.
Tyler Dibling is also set to join the Toffees, with a medical booked in for the talented teenage wide player.
Now, there is another transfer rumour emerging, and this time it’s to a defender on the continent.

Everton have been chasing a right-back all summer, with Kenny Tete close to joining the Merseysiders at one stage.
That deal ultimately fell through, but Moyes has remained intent on recruiting another full-back and it’s now coming to light that he is interested in signing Barcelona’s Hector Fort.
Everton are eyeing Fort on a season-long loan deal and here’s how fans have reacted to the link on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Who is Everton transfer target Hector Fort?
Fort is a product of Barcelona’s prestigious La Masia academy, and he is actually close friends with Lamine Yamal.
The 19-year-old made his senior debut for Barca in December 2023, coming off the substitutes bench against Royal Antwerp in the UEFA Champions League.
The 2008-born has amassed 30 appearances since then and has been capped at youth level by Spain, so he clearly has a lot of pedigree.
Barcelona’s official website profiled him as a player who is “decisive in defence and known for his bursts of pace and penetration in attack.”

Grealish made the claim following Everton’s win over Brighton.
Jack Grealish has barely played alongside Everton teammate Iliman Ndiaye, according to the man himself, with David Moyes seemingly reluctant to play them on the same team in training.
Everton celebrated the first game at their new Hill Dickinson Stadium with a 2-0 victory over Brighton as goals from Iliman Ndiaye and James Garner sealed a historic 2-0 win.
One of the big talking points from Sunday’s game on Merseyside was the performance of summer signing Grealish, who looked to be back to his best after providing assists for both goals.
It was a full debut to remember for the midfielder, and after the full-time whistle, he spoke to Sky Sports about the game, as well as his decision to join Everton.
Asked about how special the performance was, he said: “It was massive. I absolutely loved my time at Manchester City, but this summer I felt like it was time for a change.”
He added: “As soon as I spoke to the manager on FaceTime, I knew it was the place that I wanted to come to.”

Towards the end of the interview, after Ndiaye labelled his new teammate as “an amazing player”, Grealish opened up about a conversation he had with the Senegal international in training.
“But the manager hasn’t played us together once in training,” Grealish smiled. “I said to Iliman yesterday, ‘Any chance of the manager playing us together?’ So, this is our first time. Hopefully there will be many goals and assists to come.”

Grealish has joined Everton on a season-long loan from Manchester City, and according to The Athletic, the Toffees have an option to buy the 29-year-old for a fee of £50 million at the end of the loan.
In his first interview as an Everton player, Grealish revealed what David Moyes wants from him in the coming months.
“Even when I spoke to the manager, he says he wants me to be creative in the final third,” he began.
“I want to have that way about me where it’s like I was before, where I have no fear. Sometimes you will lose the ball and miss chances, but also you want to be able to play that killer pass and have an end product.
“That’s the main aim, and if I do all of that I really do feel like I can help this club.”
Grealish added: “I can’t wait. To be back playing in the Premier League, I think the last two seasons I’ve not really played as much as I wanted to at all. So hopefully I can come here and play, and get my rhythm, and show what I’m all about. Hopefully the fans know, from before, what I can bring.”
