Two Rangers transfers Danny Rohl is ‘keen’ to seal before end of window as striker ‘keen’ on Ibrox switch
The Rangers boss still has some work to do before next week’s Deadline Day.
With the closure of the January transfer window less than a week away, Danny Rohl is ‘keen’ to strengthen in a couple of areas.
The Rangers boss has steered his side to eight wins on the bounce and has firmly reaffirmed them as title contenders. The Light blues currently sit four points behind Hearts but are now two adrift of Celtic with 15 games to go in the Premiership season.
Rohl has already strengthened his side in January with the signings of Sturm Graz midfielder, Tochi Chukwuani and Westerlo full back, Tuur Rommens on permanent deals, as well as Andreas Skov Olsen on loan from Wolfsburg. Rohl hinted before Sunday’s win over Dundee that he wasn’t finished in the window just yet and has stuck to his word, having made a bid for Hansa Rostock striker, Ryan Naderi.
Naderi ‘keen’ on Ibrox switch
According to Sky Sports: “Rangers have made a bid for Hansa Rostock striker Ryan Naderi. Talks are ongoing between the Ibrox side and the German third-division club after a £2.6m (€3m) offer was submitted, as first revealed by Sky Sports in Germany. It is understood the 22-year-old German has told Hansa Rostock he is keen on a move to Rangers.”
The Light Blues are preparing the bid in preparation for a potential Ibrox exit for striker, Danilo, who has been subject of interest from Dutch side, NEC Nijmegen and Cypriot Champions Pafos FC. The Brazilian has struggled for minutes this season, behind Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski in the selection pecking order.
At 6’ 4”, Naderi would be a towering focal point at the top of the pitch for Rangers. He has eight goals and five assists already this season in Germany’s third tier and at the age of 22, has potential to be a long term Govan addition. His Rostock contract expires in the summer of 2028.
‘Rohl keen to add another attacking option’
Sky Sports also claim that the Rangers boss is looking to strengthen other areas as well as striker. With the title race hotting up, many believe that whoever has the best January window between Rangers, Celtic and Hearts could be the eventual winners. They say: “Sky Sports News had reported Rangers head coach Danny Röhl was keen to add another attacking option, plus potentially another midfielder, during this window.”
Chukwuani got his first league start on Sunday and didn’t look out of place at Ibrox, as Rangers emerged comfortable 3-0 victors. However, with Connor Barron injured long term, clearly this is an area Rohl feels they’re a bit short.
From the other new additions, Skov Olsen struggled to get up to speed against Dundee having just came back from injury. Meanwhile it’s also too early for Rommens to feature as he is shaking off a knock, but the Belgian should be available in a few weeks time.
