The Premier League has not charged any of its 20 clubs for breaches of Profitability and Sustainability rules for the three-year period ending in the 2023/24 season.
Clubs were awaiting the outcome on Tuesday morning after submitting their accounts at the end of 2024. It had been reported that Leicester City were at risk of breaching, but that is not the case.
In a statement, The Premier League told The Times: “Issues as to the jurisdiction of the Premier League over Leicester City Football Club in relation to PSR compliance are currently the subject of confidential arbitration proceedings.
“Accordingly, neither the league nor the club will make any further comment at this stage about any aspect of the club’s compliance or otherwise with any of the PSR or related rules, save to say that no complaint has been brought against Leicester by the league for any breach of the PSRs for the period ending Season 2023-24.”
Leicester remain involved in a legal battle with the league over its jurisdiction relating to the 2022/23 season. The Foxes had initially won the case in September – avoiding punishment – on the basis that the league had no jurisdiction to punish them after they were relegated in 2023.
The Premier League has appealed the decision and the outcome of that remains unclear.
News that none of the 20 clubs in the Premier League have breached the rules means Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham all know their fate. Neither of the three were expected to be at risk of breaching but there will be no points deduction for any team.
Midweek Premier League is back this week, with all 20 teams in action including Arsenal v Spurs and Forest v Liverpool.
All 10 fixtures will be broadcast exclusively on TNT Sports, which is available for £30.99 on a rolling monthly basis via Discovery+ Premium and also includes the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, boxing and NBA.
